The group was formed in the summer of 1989 when a number of existing pilots based at RAF Henlow decided to club together and purchase an aircraft suitable for training and touring, After a short search a suitable aircraft, 'YP was found for sale at Stapleford. Following an engineering inspection, it was purchased and flown to RAF Henlow. Where is was operated for the next 30 years. Following the closure of RAF Henlow in the summer of 2020, YP is now based at Old Warden Airfield.
